Jeanne International Examiner, LMSB Revenue Agent We examine the international issues of large corporations, which have over $10 million of assets. Some are industry cases and some are what are called, "coordinated industry cases." And we work, usually, generally on a team. And when I first came into the IRS, I had wonderful on-the-job instructors who were great and who -- they were able to sit there, and teach you procedures which you wouldn't know, coming from the outside. I have bachelor's degree in political science and math. And I then went back to school, and when I was 32, and took the accounting courses that were needed to sit for the CPA exam. The benefits working for the IRS are fantastic. Vacation time is more -- even when you first come in. You accrue four hours every two weeks, and that amounts to quite a bit of time. You also continue to accrue four hours every two weeks for sick leave, which is fantastic. In working for the IRS as an international examiner, or even as a regular revenue agent in LMSB, I have had the opportunity to meet so many very interesting, smart, and just truly gifted people. And the travel that is available is very exciting, and I've enjoyed every moment. I think the people who came to work for the government or the IRS right away -- they were the smartest people in the world. [ Laughs ]
